The Opportunity:
With the business focused on two key stakeholders, being able to coordinate, communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders will be an important factor in your success.
 
You will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and use your experience in governance and risk frameworks to contribute to the overall risk programme.  Your primary objective will be to assist the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring the risk management framework is meeting best practice by undertaking policy and process management, assurance and legislative compliance activities, in a way that helps the organisation succeed and move forward sustainably into the future.
 
Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Chief risk Officer in undertaking activities as required to ensure the risk management framework remains best practice;
  • Supporting the development by the organisation, GSFA and NPF of risk and information management strategies to meet their legislated objectives and obligations;
  • Contribute to enhancing the operation and development of the organisation, supporting the maintenance and implementation of organisational policies.
  • Contribute to the assurance programme ensuring all assurance activities are completed within timeframes and reported to the Chief Executive and the Boards.
  • Contribute to various strategic projects as required.

Attributes that will contribute to your success include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in risk management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in risk, compliance and policy work
  • Knowledge of good governance practices and project management.
  • High attention to detail, with a proven ability to maintain accuracy and completeness of data and information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a small team, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills and a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team goals.
