  • Varied senior leadership team role.
  • Make a difference for members, their clients and the sector.

New Zealand Certified Builders is a membership organisation for trade qualified residential builders. Its members build high-quality homes for everyday New Zealanders. They’re the only builder association in New Zealand with strict entry criteria, where the minimum entry requirement for all members is a recognised industry trade qualification in carpentry. An industry leader, NZCB has an extensive membership of around 3,000 members (both businesses and individuals) throughout New Zealand.

With an ambitious strategy in place, NZCB has been on a transformative journey of growth. Due to a recent resignation, they are now seeking a new Membership and Technical Manager to form the essential link between the organisation and its members, and to ensure the best interests of the members are at the heart of everything they do.

This is your opportunity to make this role your own, developing new and better ways to deliver services to members. You’ll continue the development of a high-performing team, managing technical support activities, homeowner and member enquiries, and liaising with the wider building sector.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to be trade qualified in Carpentry (Level 4) or equivalent and hold a business qualification or equivalent.

What you will do

In this role, you will:

  • Manage all aspects of the NZCB membership process ensuring the integrity of membership criteria
  • Be the first point of contact for members and homeowners for all technical matters
  • Modernise the NZCB Member Complaint process.
  • Provide strong and effective sales and service leadership to a small team of territory managers and membership coordinators
  • Be active in the sector and visible in the regions
  • Be part of the executive leadership team, taking an ‘all of NZCB’ view to deliver the strategic plan and cement a dynamic and open culture.

You’ll enjoy and be successful in this role if you:

  • Have extensive experience in leading high-performing teams, including within sales environments
  • Have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with, and developing the trust and confidence of colleagues, stakeholders and board members
  • Are skilled at developing and maintaining rigorous, efficient and effective processes
  • Have extensive experience in the building industry
  • Have experience with a Client Management System (CRM), preferably Salesforce
  • Are collaborative with a high level of energy, are a strategic thinker, and have the ability to deliver.

While not essential, experience in an industry or trade association would be beneficial.
