Wellington Water Ltd is the region’s water services provider. It supplies safe and healthy drinking water, collects and treats wastewater, and ensures the stormwater network is effectively managed.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this newly created COO position has the overarching responsibilities that include the delivery of new and replacement capital infrastructure, management of water and wastewater treatment, collection and distribution, network management, customer experience, along with driving operational improvements, innovation and effectiveness across the group. The COO will lead around 250 staff and will oversee the performance of service delivery contracts.

You will be a proven senior leader having led a substantial business unit and be people-centric. You must be strategic-thinking and be an excellent relationship and engagement developer. You will have the experience and ability to successfully navigate a period of change and ambiguity, and comfortably contribute strategically, as part of the ELT. Your background will ideally include working in the infrastructure, utilities or water services sectors. An understanding and knowledge of te ao Maori, tikanga and the principles relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi will also be important.
