Asset Manager – Building & Infrastructure

Trust House (THL) is a community owned company based in Masterton. The company operates a range of hospitality businesses across Wairarapa, Pahiatua and Flaxmere and they currently own and manage nearly 500 social rental properties. Their operations are commercial yet aim to enhance the wellbeing of people in the region by providing homes to those in the community who need them most.
THL has a broad portfolio of assets that includes the residential housing portfolio, commercial properties, hospitality outlets, the Copthorne Solway Park, the Kourarau hydro-electric scheme, and vehicle fleet. A transformation of its housing portfolio is underway, which will mean the sale of some houses, refurbishment of others and full build of around 300 new homes. This is the most transformational change in THL’s housing strategy in 25 years.
The Asset Manager will lead the management and oversight of assets to optimise their performance and value. Reporting to the General Manager – Building & Infrastructure, they will coordinate repairs and maintenance and lead projects across the portfolio. In addition to strong knowledge and experience of asset management principles, maintenance processes and project management methodologies, the ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience with budgeting and financial analysis relating to asset management and/or construction
- Sound knowledge of building, property management, construction and health & safety acts, regulation and bylaws
- Proficiency with asset management software and project management tools
- Good relationship management skills
- Excellent organisational skills and be a master of multi-tasking and prioritisation with the ability to work under tight timeframes and in challenging commercial environments.
