Board Members
- Deliver positive community impact
- Commercial nous a must
- Nelson/Tasman region
Habitat for Humanity Nelson (HfHN) is an Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity NZ, part of the global Habitat for Humanity charity. They are entering an exciting phase as they expand their affordable and community housing offerings across the wider Nelson/Tasman Top of the South region and are seeking several board members to lead the organisation at a governance level.
HfHN welcomes applications from candidates with a strong governance track record and a passion to maximise quality housing outcomes in the Nelson Tasman region. They are looking for a mix of skillsets to complement existing board members including:
- A legal skillset
- Commercial experience particularly in property development/management or construction
- Experience in the development of thriving communities
The organisation is embarking on a period of growth and transformation so is particularly interested in candidates with strong commercial nous and financial acumen as well as energy, commitment, sound judgment, critical thinking and diversity of thought. Experience in community, social or affordable housing including programmes such as progressive home ownership would be an advantage but is not essential.
Board meetings are held two monthly. These are mainly in person in Nelson but applications are welcomed from around the country.
No directors’ fees are paid but there is a small honorarium and travel and associated costs are met.
APPLICATIONS CLOSE: 27 April 2025.
