About the Role

As CEO, you will lead the strategic and operational direction of Upper Hutt Health Centre, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care while developing our services and partnerships around the region. You will work closely with the Board, Strategic Director, staff and external stakeholders to implement innovative solutions, drive performance and encourage a culture of excellence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership:
  Lead the implementation of company strategy, including service expansion to reduce capitation as a percent of revenue, building regional partnerships and continuous improvement initiatives.
• People and culture:
  Build a high performing, engaged workforce through effective recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning.
• Operational excellence:
  Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and a safe, supportive environment for staff and patients.
• Financial stewardship:
  Oversee financial performance, reporting and budgeting to meet KPIs and support long-term sustainability.
• Customer experience:
  Champion innovation in service delivery and maintain high levels of patient satisfaction through responsive, empathetic care.
• Governance and board support:
  Provide strategic input and administrative support to the Board and shareholders, including risk management and business planning.
• Technology and innovation:
  Advance digital health initiatives, IT security and patient self-management tools to enhance care delivery.
• Marketing and communications:
  Ensure all external communications reflect our values and support our reputation as a trusted healthcare provider.

 
 
About You

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within healthcare or a similarly complex, people-focused environment
• Strong strategic thinking and operational management skills
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and performance metrics
• A collaborative, empowering leadership style with a focus on developing people and capability
• A strong understanding of the New Zealand primary care landscape is highly desirable
• Committed to equity, innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
• A clinical background is preferred
