As Government Relations Manager, you will:
- Lead the organisation’s strategic engagement with government, making sure its voice is heard in key policy and regulatory discussions.
- Build strong and influential relationships with government stakeholders.
- Identify both short- and long-term opportunities and risks in a regulated commercial environment and provide trusted advice to leadership to inform planning and decision-making.
- Monitor the political and regulatory landscape and guide internal stakeholders on the implications of government decisions.
- Coordinate responses to consultations and policy processes, drafting high-quality submissions in collaboration with senior leaders and business units.
About you:
You bring a strong mix of public and private sector experience, ideally with 6+ years in government relations.You have a strong understanding of how government works and thrive in complex, regulated and commercial environments.With commercial acumen, you’re able to balance policy interpretation with business realities and provide pragmatic advice that drives results.
You will have:
- A wide network of relationships across politics, policy, business, industry bodies and regulators.
- Experience working in or an understanding of the NZ regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to design and deliver engagement strategies that achieve outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence in a range of audiences.
- Experience advising and engaging with senior leaders.
- Exposure to PR and communications, including media engagement.

Salary range: $151,725 – $178,500 per annum, plus 15% STI, 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance.
