- Lead and coordinate the Office of the Chief Executive
- Drive strategic delivery and uplift organisational performance
Oranga Tamariki is seeking a highly experienced senior leader to serve as Chief of Staff – a newly created, strategic role reporting directly to the Chief Executive. This position is central to driving organisational performance, system alignment, and cross-government coordination in support of better outcomes for tamariki and whānau.

You are a systems thinker with a coaching mindset, able to lead through complexity, build trust, and influence at the highest levels. Your leadership reflects manaaki, integrity, and a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Executive-level experience in strategic advisory, system leadership, or coordination roles within large public sector environments
- Proven ability to manage ministerial relationships, reputational risk, and senior communications
- Exceptional judgement, discretion, and political acumen
- Strong stakeholder engagement across government, iwi, and community sectors
- Commitment to equity and improved outcomes for Māori
Oranga Tamariki is undergoing significant transformation. We are building a child-centred, whānau-focused system that delivers lasting change. Join a leadership team that values courage, integrity, and service.
