Deputy Chief Executive – Regulation and Early Childhood Education

The DCE will be responsible for establishing the new business Group within ERO to deliver:
- effective, transparent and risk-based regulation and assurance of ECE services across New Zealand
- regulation of Private Schools and Hostels to protect children and young people, ensure quality provision, and maintain public confidence in the education system.
The DCE will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and be accountable for the performance of ERO’s regulatory functions, including building regulatory capability.
You must be a proven senior executive leader with experience in regulatory and assurance environment. You will be an exceptional people leader and be an effective relationship developer and communicator. You must have a good understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for Crown agencies.
