Senior Media Advisor

We are currently seeking two Media Advisors for a busy organisation. These roles focus on providing reactive, fast-paced responses to high-profile events. The media team and their manager are highly collaborative, offering a supportive environment with a rewarding and varied workload. They work to provide strategic advice and management of media, social media and communications for a trusted organisation across the motu. 

The media team works across a 10 day roster cycle and includes early and late shifts, as well as on weekends – however you will be working no more than three or four days in a row. As such there are additional allowances for hours worked after 6, worked on a weekend or time travelled. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Media relations and communication
  • Crisis communicaton
  • Communication of sensitive or high profile events

 
Skills & Experience Required
We are seeking two candidates who have:

  • A strong media background and well-developed risk radar.
  • The ability to operate effectively under pressure, with resilience and high emotional intelligence.
  • Experience shaping media messages and communicating quickly in a changing environment.
  • A sense of satisfaction from seeing their mahi delivered on a large stage.
