Strategic Finance Business Partner

The role:
 
Our client is building depth in their finance functions and require a commercially savvy strategic Finance Business Partner to lead a small team and support key customers.  
 
The focus is to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the business and to aid decision making and ensure the financial resources available are spent prudently to deliver on strategy and goals.  
 
Your responsibilities include: 

• Understanding business plans and strategy, and the key challenges impacting financial performance. 
• Providing strategic advice and modelling to enable informed decision making.
• Advising on the utilisation of resources, investment, and funding. 
• Delivering quality financial planning, reporting and analysis.
• Identifying and managing risk
• Driving cost savings discussions and identifying new ways to deliver services.
• Coaching and mentoring the team to build financial capability, 

 
The skills and experience: 
 
To be considered you will demonstrate: 

• A CA qualification (or similar) and a depth of financial planning and analysis experience gained in complex organisations.   
• Along with the ability to think strategically, you will also be able to interpret complex information and assess implications.
• Strong relationship and communication skills, and the ability to drive meaningful discussions are essential.
• A background in the machinery of government is desirable, 
• As well as the ability to think laterally to improve the financial sustainability of your customers.
