The Energy and Infrastructure Industry Skills Board (ISB) plays a key role in understanding workforce needs, advising on vocational education and helping ensure New Zealand has the skills needed to support critical industries. Working closely with industry, employers, education providers and government, the ISB helps shape the future capability of a sector that keeps New Zealand moving.
Reporting to the Manager Strategy, Governance and Operations, this newly refined role will lead the planning and delivery of the ISB’s communications and marketing activities. As the dedicated communications and marketing lead for the Energy and Infrastructure ISB, you’ll work across the organisation to deliver high-quality communications while also being part of a wider network of communications professionals across the Industry Skills Boards, providing valuable opportunities to collaborate, share ideas and learn from others.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and delivery. You’ll develop and deliver communications that enhance the profile and visibility of the ISB through digital content, newsletters, LinkedIn, webinars, presentations, conferences, website management and supporting collateral. Working collaboratively with industry associations and sector partners, you’ll identify opportunities to jointly promote initiatives, leverage existing industry events and communications channels and maximise the reach and impact of the ISB’s work.
Your portfolio will include:
- Communications and marketing strategy development and execution
- Stakeholder and industry communications
- Website, LinkedIn and digital channel management
- Content creation across newsletters, briefings, presentations and publications
- Webinar, conference and event communications
- Brand management and communications planning
- Supporting communications with industry, government and education stakeholders
- Communications reporting, insights and continuous improvement
About you:
- Proven communications and/or marketing experience, ideally in a complex stakeholder environment
- An exceptional writer who can turn complex information into clear, engaging plain-English content
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience delivering communications across a range of channels and audiences
- Confidence building relationships and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders
- A proactive, practical approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves and make things happen
- Sound judgement and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to bring structure and focus to communications activity
- Experience within industry, membership, education, infrastructure or government environments will be advantageous
This is an opportunity to join a small, high-performing organisation with a national impact. You’ll have the autonomy to shape communications for an important industry sector while benefiting from the support and collegiality of a wider communications community.
