Senior Systems Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Accountant to join a high-performing finance team and take ownership of enterprise financial systems, reporting capability and process improvement initiatives.
This is a senior specialist role where you will act as the subject matter expert for financial systems, partnering across finance, technology and operational teams to ensure systems are delivering reliable information, strong controls and meaningful business insights. You will have the opportunity to influence how finance systems evolve, identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve reporting and enhance user experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the management, optimisation and ongoing development of financial management systems.
- Develop and deliver a roadmap of system enhancements, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical system and reporting solutions.
- Build and maintain financial reports, dashboards and data outputs that support informed decision-making.
- Drive automation and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Ensure system integrity, governance, security and data quality are maintained.
- Support system upgrades, testing, change management and implementation activities.
- Provide guidance, training and support to finance and business users.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver system and process improvements.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification
- Proven experience managing and improving enterprise finance systems.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting processes and internal controls.
- Experience leading systems upgrades, implementations, automation initiatives or transformation projects.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with TechnologyOne, workflow automation, systems integration or public sector environments will be highly regarded.
