About the Role
This is a hands-on fixed term opportunity supporting day-to-day procurement activities while helping establish a new procurement panel and embed procurement practices across the organisation.

The immediate priority will be supporting the end-to-end establishment of a significant supplier panel procurement process. Alongside this, you’ll provide procurement guidance, maintain procurement and contract management systems, and support the organisation to apply Government Procurement Rules effectively and consistently
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the establishment of a new supplier panel, including managing procurement documentation and procurement administration
  • Support the delivery of procurement processes through GETS and procurement evaluation activities
  • Maintain the organisation’s contract register and support contract management practices
  • Provide practical procurement advice to internal stakeholders
  • Support compliance with government procurement rules and procurement policies

Skills & Experience Required
We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional who can combine strong delivery capability with excellent stakeholder management skills. You’ll bring a practical approach, sound judgement and the ability to work confidently across a range of business areas.

  • Experience delivering procurement activities in the New Zealand public sector
  • Strong knowledge of Government Procurement Rules and procurement principles
  • Experience with sourcing, evaluations, supplier engagement and contracts
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, written and analytical skills
  • Experience improving procurement processes and contract management practices
