Assistant Accountant

This an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to apply their accounting expertise in an organisation grounded in service, and social good.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a critical part in supporting day to day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity across accounting processes. This is a part time opportunity, with around 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:
 

  • Accounts payable and receivable management
  • Bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist the month end and year end reporting
  • Support budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintenance of financial records and reconciliations
  • Support system implementations and testing
  • Assisting with audit and compliance requirements
  • Preparation of financial reports
  • Variance analysis and financial data reporting
  • Fixed asset register maintenance

You will have

  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance support role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practice
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience using Xero and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
